Bevelled Glass

What is Bevelled Glass?
Small pieces of hand shaped glass bevels are bonded to the glass using strong clear UV adhesives to create beautiful designs and patterns. There are hundreds of patterns to choose from and with the standard diamonds, squares, rectangles and tear drops, the limitations are endless.

Bevelled glass is the most popular form of decorative glass today and around 80% of all orders placed with Leadbitter Glass are for bevelled glass designs. Our bevelled glass designs can be combined with our overlay stained glass borders and centres to create beautiful glass for doors and windows.

Leadbitter Glass has created thousands of custom made bevelled designs for homes and businesses through the years which have become the the centre piece of the home. Combining Gluechip bevels with a Gluechip background overlay produces a beautiful effect that lasts. Take a moment to browse some of our past works and you will get to see some truly amazing feature windows created for our past clients.

What are the benefits of modern bevelled glass?
Although the manufacturing technique has changed slightly over the years, the materials have stayed basically the same but there are many advantages of ordering modern bevelled glass. As explained above, beveled glass is created using hand made beveled glass clusters assembled together onto one piece of glass to create a beautiful design.

The modern bevelled glass process has many advantages over the original bevelled glass system and one factor is the strength and security of the finished product. Energy saving is also a big concern in todays world and with the bevelled glass design being created onto one single sheet of glass, this reduces the possibility of the cold weather coming into the home through the joints of the design as was the case with traditional forms of bevelled glass.

Durability and security are other advantages with modern the bevelled glass system. Assembling the bevelled glass clusters onto toughened glass provides long lasting and secure bevelled glass. We can also create beautiful beveled glass onto various types of energy saving glass such as Pilkington K glass.
